Dragées are small chocolate confections that hide within them a filling of surprising goodness.
In these Dragées the protagonist is the Alkekengi, a plant of Asian origin (but also easily grown in Italy) also called the “Chinese lantern.” Its berries, the only edible part of the plant, are shaped like a small cherry and taste somewhat sour reminiscent of that of tomato and raspberry, but also of citrus.
We dry them, coat them with White and Milk Chocolate and then finish the dragées With bitter cocoa powder. The result is a mouthwatering “confetto” that combines the sweetness of our chocolate with the tartness of Alkekengi.
